Calm, focused, forward-looking work to help you become more of who you want to be.
Hypnotherapy is a gentle, collaborative approach that uses focused relaxation and concentrated attention to help you make the changes you want. Despite what stage shows suggest, it is nothing like ‘mind control’: you stay aware, in control, and able to stop at any point. The trance state is simply a deeply relaxed, focused frame of mind — much like becoming absorbed in a book or a film — in which the mind tends to be more open to helpful, positive ideas.
Tina works in a solution-focused way. Rather than dwelling at length on what has gone wrong, sessions concentrate on where you want to get to and the small, practical steps that move you there. Calm relaxation is combined with gentle, encouraging suggestion to help you draw on resources you already have, building momentum towards your goal.
Your first session begins with an unhurried consultation — a chance to talk through what has brought you here, what you’d like to be different, and how hypnotherapy works, before any relaxation begins. From there, a typical session follows a simple, comfortable shape:
Many people turn to hypnotherapy as a calming, supportive complement to everyday wellbeing. It may help with:
Results vary from person to person, and hypnotherapy works best when you genuinely want the change.
Hypnotherapy may suit you if you’d like to feel calmer, more confident, or ready to move past a habit that no longer serves you — and you’re willing to play an active part in that change. It’s open to most adults. If you’re living with a diagnosed physical or mental-health condition, please speak to your GP or clinician first, as hypnotherapy is intended to sit alongside, not replace, medical or psychological care.
You remain fully aware and in control throughout a session, and you cannot be made to do or say anything against your will. Hypnotherapy complements but does not replace medical, psychiatric or psychological treatment, and Tina will suggest you seek GP advice or a referral where appropriate.
Tina is Hyp.Dip qualified — holding a recognised practitioner diploma in hypnotherapy — and is registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), the UK’s largest hypnotherapy register. GHR registration means she works to an agreed Code of Ethics & Practice, holds professional indemnity and public liability insurance, and is accountable through a formal complaints procedure — your reassurance of professional, ethical standards.
Will I lose control, or be asleep?
No. You stay awake and aware the whole time. Hypnosis is a relaxed, focused state, not sleep, and you remain in control throughout.
Is it safe?
For most people, yes — it’s a gentle, non-invasive approach. If you have a diagnosed health condition, it’s sensible to check with your GP first, as hypnotherapy complements rather than replaces medical care.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on you and your goal. Some find a few sessions helpful; others prefer ongoing support. You’ll discuss a realistic plan at your first consultation.
What does ‘GHR registered’ mean?
It means Tina meets the General Hypnotherapy Register’s training and insurance requirements and follows its Code of Ethics & Practice, with a complaints procedure in place — so you can be confident you’re working with an accountable, ethical practitioner.
Hypnotherapy is offered as a complementary therapy and does not replace medical, psychiatric or psychological treatment. Results vary. If you have a diagnosed condition, please consult your GP. Tina is Hyp.Dip qualified and GHR registered.
